Genitalia: Tegumen small with rather narrow terminal lobes; socii very long, sparsely bristled terminally; tuba analis delicate, membranous posteriorly. Valva broad, costa strong; sacculus broad basally, concave before middle of ventral edge, then straight, curved upwards in terminal (sparsely spined) portion; brachiola very broad, large. female gen. A. fimbriana
Genitalia: Sterigma proportionally small with rather short, pointed apically anterior projections; antrum heavily sclerotized, uniformly broad throughout, long, ductus bursae long, broad, thin before corpus bursae; signum rounded, dentate.
Variation:
Adults of the first generation show minor variation in the intensity of the median fasciae; adults of the second generation are very variable. The ground colour varies from reddish-brown or violet-brown to dark brown; the whitish costal streak can be strigulated with black or can cover most of the wing, leaving a dark median fascia and some irregular spots. Furthermore, the markings can be atrophied.
Biology:
The larvae of the first generation live in May and pupate by the end of the same month. Moths emerge in mid June. The larvae of the second generation appear in August and September. Moths of this generation fly until winter and then hibernate till spring.
Host plants:
Ericaceae, Vacciniaceae such as billberry, bog whortleberry, cranberry (Vaccinium), and Rosaceae such as sour cherry, sweet cherry, peach, apricot, almond (Prunus) and apple (Malus).
Damage:
Larvae feed within rolled leaves at apices of the branches of the host plant.
Recorded as one of the three most injurious species on apple in Northern China (Ko-hsuin, 1974).

Palaearctic Region from Central Europe to China and Korea.
Acleris fimbriana minuta Rob. occurs in North America.
