Biology

(Data concern Japan)
There are probably three to four generations yearly. Moths occur from early April until late November.
In the past, this species was synonymized with Matsumuraeses phaseoli, and it is therefore difficult to collect data that concern this species.

Host plants:

(Data concern Japan)
Robinia prseudoacacia, Trifolium pratense, Lupulus sp., Glycine max., Pueraria lobata.

Damage:

Matsumuraeses falcana damage to leaves of Pueraria lobata.

Larvae are found feeding on (cultivated) soy bean (Glycine).

Distribution:

Nepal, Southern China, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia (Java).
